2026 Canadian National Championship Trial

Hello All,

The trial is taking place in Mission B.C. at Iron Mountain on June 27 and 28.  Staging will be from the 18 Pastures Golf Course.(https://www.eighteenpastures.com/).

Directions can be found on their contact page. (https://www.eighteenpastures.com/contact/) Do not put the mailing address on your GPS as it will try to bring you in on a washed out road. Parking location can be found on the 18 Pastures website and will accommodate all vehicles including Motorhomes and  trailers. Camping is available starting Friday afternoon.

The golf course will cater a meal on Saturday evening. It will be free with your entry fee for either day, and free for observers. Guests will cost $20 per person.

It is not mandatory to be a member of the CMA to participate however national titles will only go to CMA members. CMA membership is $85 and can be purchased online at www.motorcyclingcanada.ca

Registration will be open 7 PM to 9 PM Friday, 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday and 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM Sunday (for those only riding one day). We will be setting up a page on the CPTA website (trialsbc.com) asking you to tell us that you are coming etc. Please visit the site.

If you want to arrive and practice before Friday please use the regular parking and entrance on Matheson Ave.

The entry fees are $50 per day. Minders are $10 per day and must meet all the same requirements as the rider and his motorcycle. All riders and motorcycles must meet the standards of section Q-138 of the CMA rules for trials.  CMA rules link, https://www.motorcyclingcanada.ca/rule-book-2

These standards include, but are not limited to a lanyard style kill switch, an approved off road helmet, and complete/non-broken levers. Please read the rule book.

IN ADDITION, all motorcycles must be equipped with spark arrestors to meet B.C. requirements. This will be checked!

(Spark arrestors required for off-road vehicles (ORVs):
All off-road vehicles are now required to have a spark arrestor installed to reduce wildfire risks when operating on Crown land. A spark arrestor is a small screen or other device that is installed in an exhaust system to stop sparks or other exhaust residue from exiting the tailpipe.)

The trial will be composed of 10 sections x 3 loops each day on a relatively short course. The TR3 classes will have only 8 x 3 sections on the Sunday. The first riders will go out at 10 o’clock on each day. The time limit for Saturday shall be 4.5 hours plus half an hour at half a point a minute. The time limit for Sunday will be 4 hours plus half an hour at half a point a minute. Both loops are fairly short and you can possibly/probably ride the 3 loops without going back to the pits if you need to save time. There will be a clock at the final section where your end time will be marked.  The trial will be scored on punch cards carried by the rider so number plates will not be required on your motorcycle. Make sure that you have a secure but accessible way to carry the card.

The following classes will be set as per CMA rules.

Championship, Black arrows  Start time 10:30

TR1 (Expert) Red arrows   Start time 10:20

TR2 (Advanced, Women, Veteran 2) White arrows Start time 10:10

TR3 (Intermediate, Veteran 3) Green arrows  Start time 10:00

Veteran class riders must be 50 years old as of January 1, 2026.

Please note that there will NOT be sections for Novice or Junior classes as the terrain is too difficult. However Junior and Novice class riders would be welcome to spectate and are needed as observers for one or both days.

Observers are needed for both days. If you or someone traveling with you is able to observe, please contact us at the number or email address below. No or little experience is required.
